CREWE have re-signed former midfield favourite Kenny Lunt.

Lunt will join initially on loan until January 3, but could seal a permanent return to the Alexandra Stadium after being told he can leave Sheffield Wednesday by manager Brian Laws.

Alex caretaker manager Dario Gradi moved quickly to bring back the 29-year-old, who joined Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer in 2005/2006, but has failed to make an appearance this term.

Lunt also spent the latter months of last season on loan with Crewe.

“Great News if Steve Holland had down the same in the summer he might not have lost his job. Kenny Lunt was the main reason we escaped relegation last season a very clever player who will supply the ammunition for the strikers and will give experience to the side.

Well Done Dario and Good Luck”
