Crashes cause A500 and A50 chaos
RUSH-HOUR commuters faced tail-backs travelling into the city from two directions today after two crashes involving a total of eight vehicles.
The pile-ups on the A500 and the A50 happened at around 7.30am and resulted in two people suffering minor injuries.

On the D-Road, a lorry, two vans and three cars were involved in the collision near the Tunstall turn-off and hold-ups spread to the Reginald Mitchell Way.
An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended and a women was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with neck pain.
And a lane in the Meir Tunnel on the A50 was blocked by a crash between a car and a lorry creating more chaos.
A police spokesman said: "Stoke-on-Trent commuters were caught in hold-ups no matter which way they were travelling in this morning. There were two people slightly hurt in the Tunstall collision."
