'Bomb' alert at Wedgwood sparked by pottery
STAFF at Wedgwood's factory were evacuated while police investigated a suspicious package.
Officers were called to the Barlaston site at 1.40pm today after workers reported an item.

Breaking News: 'Bomb' alert at Wedgwood
Police said part of the site, including the offices, had been evacuated as a precaution.
The item was later identified by police as "pottery".
Trains on the railway line that passes the site were halted.
The site was cordoned off, although this has since been lifted.

“You can bet it will not be the last time production gets stoped there. Its a wonder they did'nt tell them go home and not come back there and then, save them the hazzel of closeing the place. You can bet your life that pottery was not made there and if it was it was about 200 year old and awateing display.”

“not all workers were evacuated some were made to work,much like when there was an electrical fire some workers were made to work in the smoke for a number of hours after,sad to say thats wedgwood all over new owners or not”
