STOKE City ABC are celebrating after a successful competition in north Wales.

Three of their fighters who took part in the Clwyd ABC show at Rhyl Rugby Club stopped their opponents inside the distance.

Impressive 15-year-old southpaw Marcus Tew made it two wins from two fights when he stopped Joe Daniel, of Newtown, in the first round.

Fighting in the 54kg category, Tew opened with a flurry of straight lefts and right hooks to put his opponent on the back foot before stopping him with a cracking left hook to the jaw.

Top prospect Eshan Mirza and John Jones, of Clwyd, produced the fight of the night in the 64kg category.

The Stoke coaches have high hopes for Mirza, and the southpaw showed his potential by stopping his opponent a minute into the third and final round.

Mirza shaded the opening round, but the Stoke man upped his game in the second, quickly dropping Jones for a count of eight.

Mirza caught Jones with a cracking left for another count of eight and another shot to the head in round three was too much for the Welshman.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Dave Lowe left it late to dispatch home fighter Andy McClusky.

It was late in the third round of their 88kg encounter when the Stoke man stopped his opponent in his tracks with a left hook, straight right combination.
