Bowls: Ferris misses out on Waterloo title
DANNY Ferris missed out on winning the Waterloo Championship after losing to the eventual winner.
The Stoke-on-Trent teenager was beaten in the semi-finals 21-12 by Jonathan Copeland, who retained his trophy for the third successive year.

STAFFORD duo Chris Ward and Gordon Hawkins head to Yorkshire on Thursday to try to book a place in the sub-finals of the £7,000 Mirfield BC two-man team knockout.

THE Newcastle London Road Open Doubles Competition qualifying rounds starts on Tuesday.
Competitors will battle it out for a place in the final on Tuesday, September 7.
