COUNTY champion Lee Dale will take on Florence's Matt Fallows in a heavyweight battle in the last 16 round of the Ted Astley Memorial Trophy.

The final few will meet at Birches Head Hotel tomorrow to decide who will take home this year's trophy.

BIRCHES Head Hotel will take on Middleport Park in a mouthwatering final of the Potteries Senior Challenge Cup on Tuesday.

Middleport are trying to reclaim the title they won in 2010 while the Hotel, the 2011 Sentinel Cup champions, will certainly be no pushovers.

Congleton Park took the prize last year, but the trophy has been shared between this summer's finalists in 19 years out of the past 20.

The two teams met in the 2009 final, when Birches Head recorded a 195-174 triumph.

A large crowd is expected to watch the action at Fegg Hayes Bowling Club, starting at 6.45pm.

OAKHILL and Tittensor will go head-to-head for the Stubbs Trophy tomorrow. Play will start at 2pm at Little Stoke.

EIGHT remaining pairs will play off for the Sentinel Charities Fodens Doubles top honour tomorrow.

The ladies competition will come to a head at Barlaston Plume of Feather, when play starts at noon.

THE Potteries and District County bowls team have completed a hat-trick of wins in an annual county trophy match against Civil Service Sports Council.

Ian Simpson (Florence Tennis and Bowling) was the big winner on the day when he recorded a 21-8 success against Paul Whiteley (Blackpool).

In the end, the Potts posted a 229-203 victory at Little Stoke Bowling Club.
