Bowls: County ladies earn Yorkshire clash
STAFFORDSHIRE women's team play Yorkshire in next months BCGLBA Championship semi-final next month after a 29-point defeat of Dudley.
The home venue at Birches Head Hotel saw Staffordshire earn a 67-point victory, with Marie Stretch, Carol Steele, and Liz Rowley all returning single figure victories. In the away leg, Staffs managed to collect five winners, which restricted Dudley's advantage to 38 points.

MIDDLEPORT Park's Nicky Tideswell won the £1,000 Tetley Walker LMRCA Open at Altrincham, defeating Warrington's Jon Brown 21-8 in the final. The victory erased Tideswell's memories of losing in last year's final.
QUALIFYING heats in the £4,200 Grange Club Classic in Stockport are being held today, where Potteries bowlers are chasing final-day places.
