Bottle ovens inspire artist
ARTWORK depicting the history of pottery in the city is to appear on the walls of a cafe.
Terry's Bar, in Hanley Indoor Market, will display a series of paintings by artist Amy Booton, aged 24, from Sneyd Green.
The work centres on the bottle ovens which were once a common sight across the Potteries.
Artist Lara Bagguley, from Newcastle, arranged for the work to be showcased at the cafe.
And the 34-year-old said: "We have put some artwork in the cafe before and it has gone down well with the customers.
"As an artist I know how hard it is to get your work out there, so I'm glad we have been able to sort this out.
"The bottle oven series that Amy has done are really impressive and the cafe's customers have given a lot of positive feedback."
The work will be on display at the cafe until the end of this month.
