Bin collections are disastrous
I HAVE been on the phone to Newcastle Borough Council because I have two large cracks in my wheelie-bin. But as there are fewer than six tenants at the property, I am entitled to only a small bin.
Fortnightly bin collections have proven to be a total disaster. Many a time, I have seen people standing in their bins to try to create extra space for yet another week without a proper collection.
This may be easier for a young, fit and healthy family but the elderly and infirm are less likely to be able to climb into their wheelie-bins and crush down rubbish.
Fortnightly collections were imposed upon us by New Labour and have resulted in an increase of environmental health issues in the back streets of Britain.

More taxpayers' money is now needed to clear up the remnants of fly-tipping and vermin infestations than was spent on keeping the rubbish down on a weekly basis.
Labour won't get my vote but the sad irony is, there's no viable alternative to vote for. They're all rubbish.

“I with you on this one, reguarlsrly phone the council to complain about the award winning bin collection service. Every week input my bins out in the right place, every week I come home to find the bins left in the middle of footpath to better still in the middle I'd my drive. These so called highly trained bin men are idiots, they're as fast as possible to empty the bins throwing them down once emptied and running onto the next. The council just flatly refuse to listen”
