The court heard the offences happened while he was subject to a suspended sentence for three offences of benefit fraud.

Kevin Mortlock, mitigating, said: "He was asked to go in the pub car park and the motorcycle was put in the back. He accepts he was part of the theft of the motorcycle."

Judge Paul Glenn jailed Bramhall for six months and activated four weeks of the suspended sentence to run consecutively. He also banned him from driving for 12 months following the July 8 incident.

The judge said: "If you take vehicles to commit offences, that is a price you must pay."
