SECOND-HAND books are wanted for a sale to help raise funds for a chapel.

Organisers hope Englesea Brook chapel and museum, near Crewe, will be among those to benefit from two sales over coming months.

The first will be in Central Methodist Church, York, on July 25 and will have at least 10,000 books on many subjects for sale over the following fortnight.

And it will all happen again from August 29, when there are expected to be around 20,000 books in a sale at the Methodist chapel, Primitive Street, Mow Cop.

They can be brought into Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum during normal opening hours, 10.30am to 5.15pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 1.30-5.15pm on Sunday.

Alternatively, they can be dropped off by arrangement on 01270 820836.
