Bids invited at charity auction
POTTERY, paintings and jewellery will be among items up for grabs at a charity auction.
More than 120 items will be sold at the auction being held at the White Star pub, on Kingsway, Stoke, next Wednesday.
The lots will include Doulton, Wedgwood and Aynsley pottery, an original watercolour and a Harrod's teddy bear as well as prints, books, jewellery, wine and spirits.
The event will raise funds for local dog rescue charity Animal Lifeline.
The items being sold have all been donated by local companies, and Animal Lifeline supporters.
Cassie Fletcher, a volunteer for the charity, said: "We have had terrific support and we are hoping the auction will boost our funds at a very busy time of year.
"We have more than 100 dogs in our kennels and the cost of providing them with food and veterinary care is substantial.
"Without the support of the caring dog-lovers in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas, we couldn't rescue and rehome so many abandoned dogs."
The auction, which is among a number of fund-raisers planned for the summer, begins at 7pm with viewing from 6.30pm.
