Benefit changes April 2013
As many of you will know the
government will be changing the way benefits are paid in fact they
are no longer going to pay housing benefit and council tax. The new

taking over where as the tenent on benefits now will have to pay 14p
in every pound of your benefit for that spare bedroom, if you have
two or more spare rooms then you will have to pay 25% of your benefit
for the spare rooms or move to a smaller property.
In addition to this the council are now
carrying out consultations on council tax which will also be changed
from april. Looking at the proposals from the council we will have to
find 35% of the requirement as the council intend to pay 65% of the
bill.
For those of you that are fit this will
be easy to rectify, just find full time work.
For those that are under retirement age
but unfit to work be prepared to add to your health problems because
like me you will have be ready to be evicted, I cannot pay the money
they will be asking for also I refuse to move to a smaller property.
My children have grown up and I now share a 3 bed house with my wife.
The problem is I love my council home, I have done what all tenants
should do and that is treat the house as a home and every improvement
I have made has cost me which includes my health. I have great
neighbours and it is my intention to finish my days here.
I know some will say the house is too
big when so many people need a home, I agree but it wasnt me who sold
off the council homes and not look to the future and replace them
,also it wasnt me who instructed the council to retain council homes
for refugees from all these other countries. Dont get me wrong , I
have no problem with giving our houses to other nationalities but why
didnt the government protect our own needs first and build extra
homes to cover for all this.
Its not my intention to explain my
views to the sceptics and uncareing of you other than to say
I have a number of ailments one of
which is a serious heart condition and I need to use a spray quite
often, writing this letter has caused me to use that spray because I
am so upset at all this.
I am quite sure that I will not survive
being evicted for not paying this cruel taxation but at least I will
die in my home.

I'm sorry if I give you the impression that I'm 'un-happy' just because I care about people less fortunate than I, I know it's VERY un-fashionable these days, What with the filth being in government and all,
But as it happens for me personally I am probably the 'happiest' and most content that I've been in my entire life, and I'm 59,
doesn't stop me despising this government and everything it represents though,
As for the 'recovery' I really really REALLY hope it is real, as a struggling self employed person I can't stress that enough,
BUT, I very much doubt it's true, all the trends and signs are of a triple dip recession, These figures (if they are even true) are 'apparently' only down to the olympics,
We might get them again in 50 years,...... fingers crossed eh?”

So, let me see if I am reading you right, are you implying that ONLY people in "well paid jobs" actually "work hard" and that how much you are paid is directly linked to how "hard" you work?

FACT, tens, (if not hundreds) of thousands of WORKING, I repeat in the hope it penetrates your massive ego, WORKING people, in low paid or part time jobs, (in many cases jobs they took because that's all there was available, and they didn't want to be "scroungers" on the dole) will be severely effected by these 'attacks' on them, by the very government that promised "Genuine cases have nothing to fear"
