OPEN WIDE: Photographer Mark Scott captured this image of a family of swallows enjoying the summer sun.

The Sentinel man was out and about in Endon when he was told about the photo opportunity.

Mark, aged 26, said: "I had been taking photos at a cricket match and was going back to my car on Station Road when a local man, Jeff Wain, stopped me and asked if I wanted a nice picture.

"He had seen the swallows while he was walking his dog.

"I went to the bridge to have a look and saw them on the branch. I really like the innocence of the picture. You can almost read the characters of the baby swallows by their faces, and the mother looks really majestic."
