Bank launches help to find job
MORE than 150 people attended an event aimed at tackling youth unemployment.
Business owners and training providers met with young people looking for work at The Big Apprentice Conversation hosted by Barclays yesterday.
The bank wants to help businesses across the UK take on 10,000 apprentices by 2015.
The scheme is being kick-started in Staffordshire, where The Prince's Trust will develop a talent pool of potential apprentices to be matched with businesses.

Companies taking part will receive a support package from Barclays, including help with paperwork and accessing funding.
Stoke-on-Trent South MP Rob Flello, who attended the event, said: "With youth unemployment still at an unacceptably high level, schemes such as the Barclays Bridge into Work are vital.
"I am a big supporter of the scheme and I was delighted to see so many businesses in attendance."
Barclays chief executive Antony Jenkins, who grew up in Stoke-on-Trent, said: "Young people have so much to offer but they are struggling to gain their first role in the workplace. If we can help solve that it is going to be very powerful."
Alex Lamb from The Prince's Trust said: "We meet young people every day who have struggled to find a job.
"By working with partners like Barclays, we know that it is possible to help them back into work."
Among the speakers at the launch event held at the Britannia Stadium was businessman Mo Chaudry.
He said: "I employ five apprentices but I want to employ more. I love being around young people as they inspire me."
