Lorry packed with biscuits sheds load on A50/ A500 interchange
A HEAVY goods vehicle packed with biscuits shed its load at the Sideway Island roundabout earlier this afternoon.
The accident happened on the A500 interchange with the A50 at around 1pm and has caused substantial delays for motorists in the area.
The A50 eastbound carriageway has been closed while police officers attempt to deal with the vehicle and its load, which has been scattered across the road.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Officers are currently in attendance to assist with traffic, along with colleagues from highways, whilst a clear-up operation is in progress."
