POLICE are appealing for information after a man needed hospital treatment as the result of a street attack.

The 39-year-old man was walking in Crewe over the weekend when he was assaulted.

The incident happened near to Edleston Primary School in Derrington Avenue between 7pm and 8pm on Saturday.

The victim suffered significant facial injuries and is currently being treated at Leighton Hospital.

A 24-year-old man from Crewe was arrested, but has been bailed pending further inquiries.
