Athletics: Improving Durow runs away with a hat-trick of trophies

SANDRA Durow picked up a hat-trick of awards at Uttoxeter Road Runners' annual presentation evening last Friday.

Durow claimed the Most Improved Senior Runner award as well as collecting the Ladies Road and Ladies Cross-Country Champion trophies at the Doveridge Club-hosted event.

Simon Danks was also a multiple winner after collecting the Men's Road and Men's Cross-Country Champion awards.

And the Dave Roberts Trophy, awarded for Outstanding Contribution to the Club, was presented to Grahame Cope.

The evening also included the official presentation of a cheque for £267 to James Lunney of Katharine House Hospice. The money was raised by Road Runners who took part in the annual charity Santa run around Uttoxeter Town on Christmas eve.

Meanwhile, Uttoxeter Road Runners have announced that membership now stands at 64 – the highest number ever reached.
