POTTY SALE: After hearing the very bad news of another one of our factories going under, Spode of Stoke, I was sad to see outside the Matalan store in Longton posters of Potteries girl Anthea Turner promoting chinaware, such as mugs and plates, that are foreign-made. I'm disappointed.

“Ha! It doesn't concern Anthea.... She's made her money, sod the rest!

I can't help but think that every BMW & Merc driver in the UK or even Stoke has played their part!

Wedgwood still employ around 1000 people in Barlaston(at the moment) so they are obviously still manufacturing some of their range there.

What we need is a widespread 'Buy British' campaign like we used to have ! My only fear is that through a diabolical series of Poor manager's the country's state of repair is in a bad way!

    Buy British!”
