Angry ex-burglar bit on-off girlfriend in drunken attack
A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been locked up for nine months after he assaulted his 16-year-old girlfriend who he had been in a "volatile" on-off relationship with for two years.
Marc Wylie admitted a charge of common assault by beating his girlfriend on June 2 and a further charge of affray on June 5.

Wylie, of Minstrel Court, Biddulph, bit his girlfriend on the forehead after an argument on June 2, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard.
On the evening of June 5 they were at the defendant's home when another argument broke out after Wylie had been drinking wine and alcopops.
Paul Spratt, prosecuting, said: "Wylie asked his girlfriend to leave but as she tried to do so he kicked out at her.
"He locked the doors so she couldn't leave.
"He continued to kick her, pulled her hair, grabbed her around the neck and punched her in the side of the face.
"He threw a plate which smashed in front of his girlfriend and his mother and then grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer and pointed it at his girlfriend."
The court heard that when the police arrived, Wylie was upstairs with the knife and when he came downstairs he was sprayed with CS gas by officers.
The court was told Wylie has a string of previous convictions for theft, criminal damage, common assault, burglary and using threatening behaviour.
Peter McCartney, mitigating, told the court his client has temper issues which he needs to learn to address.
He said: "Alcohol and drugs clearly played a part in these offences.
"He has described himself as a horrible person and recognises the effect drugs and alcohol have on his behaviour, which can be volatile and unpredictable.
"These incidents were clearly very unpleasant.
"He realises he should make a fresh start elsewhere and when he's released from custody he plans to move away with his father."
Judge Robert Trevor-Jones told Wylie: "As far as I'm concerned these offences involved a very vulnerable, young victim.
"The relationship does appear to be exactly how you have described it – obsessive.
"There is a clear involvement of drink and drugs which led to you brandishing a knife in a threatening way and it took officers using CS gas to overcome you.
"This was a very serious offence."
Wylie was sentenced to nine months in a young offenders' institution for the affray and one month for the common assault to run concurrently.

“fair comment warren and in the states a relationship with a 14 year old girl is statutory rape,it's a criminal offence in this country but it obviously doesn't concern the authorities.”

“Utterly sick, he's 21 a fully grown man, shes 16, a schoolgirl. A relationship lasting two years, makes her 14. What the hells going on in this idiots head, all the women his own age just to wise to go within a mile the drunken, druged up vile tripehound, so he goes for a young girl who may not know much better. However way you look at it, this prat actacked a miner, bit her, smashed a plate in frount of her, used a knife to theaten her, then went on to actack police with CS gas, and he gets 9 month, he'll be out for Chirstmas to carry on with this sort of think. I'd like to know what the young girls father makes of all this, if she was my child, I'd cripple the swine. What the hell have you got to do to get locked for a desent amount of time in this country now.”
