Anger after Blurton rap fan Christopher Jones is cleared over use of n-word
ANTI-RACISM campaigners have condemned magistrates for clearing a rap music fan who used racist language in front of a black man.
Christopher Jones, aged 43, of Blurton, was arrested after police heard him shout the word 'nigger' at a group of men.

Magistrates dismissed the case after Mr Jones claimed he used the term in a 'street slang' sense.
Hughie Lawrence, project manager for North Staffordshire African Caribbean Association, said: "As part of an organisation that works hard to bring communities together and encourage greater understanding between ethnic groups, this judgment sets back our work. Ignorance is not an excuse, and if this decision goes unchallenged, it will give a green flag to all who wish to abuse."

“its not a nice word, everyone knows what connotations it has. That said a word is either ok to use or its not. Its utterly foolish to decide one person can use a word, but another cannot.
If its a bad word then it shouldnt used by anyone. Talk of claiming it back is utter ********, dont use it whoever you are, simple as.”
