ALE lovers who sank beers over the Bank Holiday weekend helped raise £330 for two local causes.

Patrons of the Bell Inn, Eccleshall, enjoyed a variety of drinks as well as raising the money, which will be split between the Eccleshall First Responders and Eccleshall Rugby Club.

Licensee Gary Lawrence said: "I am delighted with the way our second beer festival was received.

"We had particularly busy nights on both Friday and Sunday."

Over the five-day event, which ran from last Thursday until Monday, visitors were able to sample a wide selection of beers and ciders.

The festival also featured a quiz, a barbecue and two live music festivals.
