Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) is launching a series of workshops to help local adults get in touch with their creative side.

The new course – called 'A Creative Experience' – is designed to offer adults of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to explore their creativity and 'have a go' in a range of areas including Photography, Print and Visual Studies, Ceramics, Textiles and Fashion and 3D Craft and Jewellery Making.

The full course will run over five weeks on a Tuesday evening from 6.00pm -8.00pm, starting on 28 February. Alternatively, the sessions are also being offered on a 'pick and mix' basis where people can choose the subjects that interest them most. The five week course costs £37.50*. Alternatively, individual sessions can be booked at a cost of £10* each.

Deb Hilditch, Curriculum Manager for the Faculty of Art and Creative Studies, said: "NULC is renowned for the quality of its art and creative courses and we're excited to be able to offer this new programme aimed at local adults."

She added: "Homemade crafts are very popular across the country at the moment and this is a great opportunity for local adults of all ages and backgrounds to come and try their hand at a range of creative areas with our expert tutors on hand to provide help and support."

Classes will take place within the Creative Studies workshops at the College's state-of-the-art campus on Knutton Lane.

The course is open to all ages regardless of previous experience and no formal qualifications are needed. At the end of the five weeks, anyone who wants to gain additional knowledge and skills in one or more of the areas covered will be able to progress on to further courses in art and design.
