Accidents down to poor driving
THE Sentinel ran a story about accidents on the A53.
Community leaders want the road made safer because there have been more than 20 collisions in recent years.
I doubt that the road has ever caused an accident.
It is always the drivers. The A53 is a busy road and most people who drive along that road are not involved in accidents. It is bad drivers who are the problem. They are everywhere in this country.

Some people have crashed into walls on bends, or into trees on roads.
While others have lost control of their motorbikes or cars. The problem has nothing to do with the roads.
Even police officers manage to crash in their car parks.
There were 238 such police accidents (between April 2008 and December 2010) in Cheshire and Staffordshire. They should know better.
If Staffordshire County Council was to spend millions of pounds to change the A53 there will always continue to be accidents.
I have been driving cars and motorbikes since 1952 and I have never crashed or damaged either.
I am now over 80 years old and am still driving, but no longer motor bikes.

“For heavens sake man, don't criticise driving standards. We all know that there are no bad drivers in this area and that all accidents are caused by those idiots driving one mile per hour over the speed limit. It's those damn speeders that are the problem.”
