“Why are so many people so negative about this?
Do you not want Stoke-on-Trent to keep with the times?
Stoke-on-Trent needs something to keep it alive, the pottery industry is slowly dying and once that is gone what will we have left?
We need to think of the future of the city, not complaining because the project won't be finished this year. By the time it is completed the recession will be over and will attract businesses to open here! The city will be be a hell of alot better than it is now anyway!”

“I only hope this scheme actually works as planned and we don't end up with the taxpayer creating very expensive £1000's per job which will be unsustainable, like in the world gate fiasco.
The cultural quarter fiasco still haunts me when it comes to planning by the city council.”

“I¿m all for the new business place, but what stoke needs first is manufacturing jobs not retail, or leisure. Once the main jobs are secure with a stable manufacturing business then we can expand to retail and leisure”

“If they are really going to create 4000 jobs, where are these new workers going to park their cars when they get to work?”

“Who says the city won't need more jobs in seven years time? Got a crystal ball have you? As the buildings on the proposed site have only just been demolished (from Unity House right across to the back of British Telecom), it would have been kind of difficult to get this development built for 2009. Also, developments like this don't pop up overnight, and nobody knew when exactly the recession was going to hit anyway. (We've been expecting the proverbial to hit the fan every year since around 2000.)
This just seems like somebody moaning for the sake of moaning. When there's bad news, moan, When there's good news, moan.
Hell, I'm not even sure if I'm going to like the development yet because information is scant and the photos at this website pointlessly small, but hey, let's sl4g it off anyway, eh?”
