26-year-old man arrested after serious assault in Hanley nightclub

A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following a serious assault at a Stoke-on-Trent nightclub.

The 29-year-old victim of the assault, from Newcastle under Lyme, was left with multiple facial fractures when he was attacked by four men in the Pink nightclub in Picadilly, Hanley at around 3am on Sunday.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for treatment before being released.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said the crime was reported to police on Monday and the 26-year-old man, who is also from Newcastle, was arrested yesterday.

He was interviewed at the Northern Area Custody Facility before being released on police bail pending further inquiries.
