- or Malik as he prefers to be called.

The

Indian restaurant can be found by the roundabout on London Road, just

minutes away from public parking, the closest being Goose Street near

Morrisons Supermarket.

Malik

has previously run a successful Indian takeaway, Malik's Indian, in

Chesterton and it was the encouragement of his takeaway customers that

inspired him

to open his first restaurant.  Malik, who has worked as a chef

specialising in Indian cuisine for the past ten years, says: "It's a

real compliment for a chef and business owner to receive such praise.

"When

I opened the restaurant last year I brought my staff with me and I no

longer have any involvement with the Chesterton takeaway.

"Having

my own restaurant has meant that I'm now able to experiment with more

creative dishes and develop their presentation, it's also great to be

able to

get instant customer reactions."

Since

its opening last year, the restaurant has built up a regular customer

base and has also achieved a five star rating for food hygiene from

Newcastle-under-Lyme

Borough Council. Proud of its standards, the restaurant streams live

footage of its chefs at work in the kitchen, so that customers can watch

their food being cooked.

Malik

is also the Head Chef and prides himself on the restaurants authentic

Indian seafood, such as the Bombay glassy fish which he imports from

India. The

whole fish is marinated in a medium hot sauce, before being pan fried

and grilled and then served whole with salad.

Malik,

who has developed his culinary expertise in Indian restaurants in

London and across the Midlands, wanted a restaurant that incorporated

authentic Indian

food with a venue that was modern and trendy.

"I

wanted my restaurant to be light and modern, unlike more traditional

Indian restaurants," he explains, "so that my customers can see what

they are eating.

"We have many exciting dishes that are exclusive to our diners who eat within the restaurant, such as our seafood selection.

"I

strive to be the best and I'm constantly looking at ways of improving

the restaurant; we only use top quality produce, we don't use any

artificial colourings

in our food and we always buy the best ingredients and authentic Indian

spices."

The

restaurant's menu is not as extensive as some traditional Indian

restaurants, however Malik believes this is a positive, he explains:

"Like Gordon Ramsay,

I'm a big believer in having a smaller menu, meaning that we always use

the best and freshest ingredients and focus on making every dish

special.

"I

love to cook hot dishes and one of my favourites is Chicken Tikka Peri

Peri, which is one of my own recipes, another is the Lava Curry, which

is one of the

hottest curries in the world, so it isn't for the faint hearted.

"We

have a wide selection of dishes, which vary from mild to hot, so there

is definitely something for everyone's taste. We also offer a takeaway

and delivery

service."

As

a reward for his customers' loyalty, Malik is offering  takeaway orders,  20%off on all online orders that Collected log on to www.mrmaliks.com
