2,000-plant cannabis factory discovered
POLICE have arrested two men following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Hanley containing up to 2,000 plants.
Officers responded to information received anonymously of suspicious activity taking place at the back of a former bar in Town Road just before 12.45pm yesterday.
The men, one aged 29 and the other 30, were detained by officers and arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the cultivation of cannabis.
The discovery came at the start of National Tackling Drugs Week - a campaign designed to tackle drug dealing and use, reduce drug-related crime and address community issues.
Anyone with information about drug use in their community is urged to call Staffordshire Police on 0300 123 44 55 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
