18-year-old motorcyclist Jack Boast dies after Bentilee crash

AN 18-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has died following a crash in Bentilee.

Jack Boast, of Dawlish Drive, Bentilee, died in hospital this morning after his red Kymco motorbike collided with a blue Vauxhall van at the junction of Croftfield Road and Dividy Road on Saturday evening.

The driver of the Vauxhall van, a 25-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.

He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The road remained closed until just before 11.30pm on Saturday while officers carried out an examination.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or either vehicle prior to it, and who has not already given their details to the police, is asked to contact PC Robert Trow at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting reference 695 of November 10.
