STAFFORDSHIRE County Council has revealed plans to set up a £1 million fund to help businesses in the recession.

The authority has agreed to allocate £500,000 to the Staffordshire Business Support Fund, which will be matched by European grant funding and will provide loans of up to £50,000.

Borrowers will be charged between six and 12 per cent interest to recoup most of the running costs.
