007 night for hospice trust
A JAMES Bond evening has been organised by a group which raises money for seriously-ill children.
The Stafford Friends group of the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust is staging the event on the back of a food-themed evening earlier this month.
It takes place at The Mill at Worston, in Little Bridgeford, in June and aims to beat the £800 made from the group's previous fund-raiser.
Organiser Barbara Riddle, of Tudor Way, Stafford, said: "Everyone is being encouraged to dress according to the theme.
"Tickets are already selling well."
The night takes place on Friday, June 11, starting at 7pm. It will include a three-course dinner and entertainment. Tickets cost £15 and are available by calling 01785 226866.
Since the opening of Treetops in 2003, hundreds of children and their families have enjoyed respite care and support.
Its end-of-life care has also been invaluable to those unfortunate enough to lose youngsters. But it costs £2 million a year to run the hospice and the credit crunch has hit the charity hard.
